History
The
Florida Conference Pathfinder Advisory Council as recognized the social
and spiritual need of young people in grades 5-8. In 2001, it was voted to
start a program to enrich the Pathfinder program. "eTracker" was the name
chosen for this segment of the pathfinder ministry.
The first year was memorable. The eTracker Jamboree was held at the Pine
Lake Retreat Center in February 2002. Almost 900 eTrackers had a spiritual
and fun-filled weekend fellowshipping together. Church was blessing from
God, as He opened a window to shield the group from the rain surrounding
the entire area. The afternoon continued with fellowship and a Bible
Scavenger Hunt. Saturday evening and Sunday morning were packed with
events such as soccer, football, volleyball, basketball, gymnastics,
drilling, earthaball and miniature gold tournaments. Sunday ended with a
huge peanut drop. Many prizes were awarded, including a free week at Camp
Kulaqua. The most rewarding of the entire weekend was the Mission Jars
that eTrackers sponsored. Jars were filled with money to be sent to a
Cuban Missionary, a church building project in
Moldova,
a camp restoration in the
Appalachia and a student from
Africa going
to school in the Philippines. The eTrackers won 'tickets' worth money
towards the mission projects and they chose which project their reward
tickets would sponsor.
Mission Statement: To bring the challenge of Christ-centered activities and a
closer walk with Jesus to middle school children into the 21st Century.
