Varsity Pathfinders is nothing new to Pathfindering. It is just
name for
Florida's
way of reaching our teenage youth, just as eTracker is the term for our
way of reaching out to younger children. (Other conferences designate
this age group as "Teen Pathfinders.")
History
Florida Pathfinders understands the natural and obvious difference between
children in grade 5-8 and young people in grades 9-12. These two distinct
age groups have different spiritual, social, and personal issues. Because
of this, the Varsity Pathfinder Advisory Council (vPAC) was formed. This
dynamic group of young adults are all committed to serve the Lord through
the ministry of Pathfinders and to help Varsity Pathfinders in every
aspect of ministry.
Mission
To bring high school-aged Pathfinders into a closer relationship with
Jesus Christ and a deeper understanding of the Bible.
Strategy
·
Keep them in the church! Varsity Pathfinders need to feel loved,
accepted, supported, needed, appreciated, challenged, and they need to
feel like they belong. It is the local club's responsibility to make this
happen.
·
Challenge them spiritually! Varsity Pathfinders are strongly
encouraged to study and complete the
Florida
levels of Voyager, Pioneer, Navigator, and Guide.
·
Make new friends! Conference sponsored Varsity Pathfinder events
will be offered throughout the year to assist the local clubs in carrying
out the mission of Varsity Pathfinders.
